NY PCG Consular Outreach Team on the Move Provides Services in Philadelphia

New York – The Philippine Consulate General in New York Consular Outreach Team on the Move conducted a day-long outreach mission on 22 October at the St. Agustine Church, Philadelphia in cooperation with the Filipino American Congress of Philadelphia Inc.

The Consular Outreach Team was led by Deputy Consul General Ma. Theresa Dizon-de Vega with Dra. Angelina Jaurigue serving as Filcom contact for the outreach service.

The outreach mission provided 133 consular services and an additional 8 requests for legal advice on matters involving Philippine law for a total of 141 services. The team processed 76 passport and passport-related services including extensions of validity while 23 dual citizenship applications were processed during the outreach.

DCG Dizon-de Vega likewise sought the support of the Filipino Community members present for the SAVE our Industries Act Campaign. A total of 40 signed petition letters were gathered from those present at the outreach while an additional 15 letters were gathered from a Fund-Raising campaign conducted for Our Lady of Hope Parish in Philadelphia later in the day.

Applicants were likewise informed that for next year's Outreach Mission, the Consulate would also conduct registration for Overseas Absentee Voting OAV).

The next Consular Team on the Move Outreach is tentatively scheduled in November in Massachusetts.END
