02 July 2013, New York – Filipino Artist Noel "Bote" Bautista opened his second solo exhibit at the Lobby-Gallery of the Philippine Center in New York on 2 July 2013. Dubbed "Enigma", Bautista's latest works feature intricately crafted pieces using wood panels, pegboards, glass, wire, paint and other industrial materials.

01 July 2013, New York – Queens Borough President Helen M. Marshall celebrated Philippine Independence Day with Consul General Mario L. de Leon Jr. during an event held in Queens Borough Hall on 6 June 2013.

02 June 2013 – Consul General Mario L. De Leon, Jr. and officers of the Filipino American Legal Defense and Education Fund (FALDEF) led Atty. JT Mallonga called on the US Attorney General's office in New York represented by Harlan Leavy, Deputy Attorney General and members of his office to pursue cooperation to ensure the safety and welfare of Filipino nationals involved as victims of human trafficking and labor exploitation incidents.

In back-to-back business seminars held at the Philippine Center on 20 and 21 June 2013, the Philippines called on overseas Filipinos to use investing in franchising and also invited US companies to take advantage of the investment opportunities in the country's special economic zones.
