28 April 2013, New York - H.E. Jose L. Cuisia, Jr., marked the beginning of his third year as Philippine Ambassador to the US by taking part in a private-sector led Philippine Trade and Investment Roadshow at the Massachusetts State House and at a Get-together with the Filipino-American Community in New England at the Harvard Student Center. Both events took place on 26 April 2013.

22 April 2013 – The Consulate General conducted a consular and passport outreach for Filipino community in Needham, Massachussetts last April 20. Needham is a few miles away from Watertown, Massachussetts where the Boston bombing suspects were apprehended by police authorities last April 19.

23 April 2013 – Consul General Mario De Leon and Commissioner Fatima Shama of the NYC Office of Immigrant Affairs participated in a cultural presentation entitled "Undocumented New York" featuring a short film on Jose Antonio Vargas, a Filipino-American who came out as undocumented over a year ago, during the 10th Annual NYC Immigrant Heritage Week last April 22 at the Angel Orensanz Foundation in the Lower East Side.

19 April 2013 - The Philippine Consulate hosted an Immigration Forum on April 18 at the Kalayaan Hall Annex, Philippine Center to join in the celebration of Immigrant Heritage Week in New York City.
