DUAL CITIZENS WHO ARE VISITING THE PHILIPPINES REQUIRED TO PRESENT PHILIPPINE PASSPORTS BEFORE EXITING THE PHILIPPINES\n<\/h2>\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

\n\t\t\t\t\t

The Philippine Consulate General in New York (PCGNY) wishes to inform our\u00a0kababayans – <\/em>who are dual citizens – that the Bureau of Immigration requires the presentation of Philippine Passports before exiting<\/u> the Philippines.<\/p>

For MINOR CHILDREN:<\/p>

When a Report of Birth has not yet been filed <\/strong><\/p><\/td>

When a Report of Birth has already been filed<\/strong><\/p><\/td><\/tr>

Parents who report their child\u2019s birth with PCGNY are therefore advised to apply subsequently for a Philippine passport for the child.<\/p><\/td>

Parents who have already filed a Report of Birth, without applying for a Philippine passport for their child, must do so before traveling to the Philippines.<\/p>

If the Philippine passport cannot be available in time for the flight to the Philippines, a Travel Document will be issued to the child. The passport of the child could then be claimed at the Office of Consular Affairs of the Department of Foreign Affairs before exiting the Philippines.<\/p><\/td><\/tr><\/tbody><\/table>

For ADULTS:<\/strong><\/p>

Adults who have recently reacquired\/retained their Philippine citizenship, by virtue of Republic Act No. 9225, are also encouraged to apply for their passports at PCGNY before traveling to the Philippines. Alternatively, they may apply in the Philippines before their scheduled flight back to their country of residence.<\/p>

While it is not mandatory to have a Philippine passport to enter the Philippines, the said dual citizens are required to present their Identification Certificate, together with their foreign passport, to the Immigration Officer upon arrival.<\/p>
