At least 17 iconic landmarks across New York and Philadelphia were illuminated with the vibrant colors of the Philippine flag on 12 June to commemorate the 126th Anniversary of the Proclamation of Philippine Independence. This historic occasion marked the first time such a significant number of buildings participated in the illumination<\/span>.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p><\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t

  • Empire State Plaza<\/span><\/li>
  • State Fairgrounds \u2013 Main Gate & Expo Center<\/span><\/li>

    In Philadelphia, the iconic One Liberty Place, Two Liberty Place, and the PECO building also joined the celebration and were illuminated in blue.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

    \u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

    Members of the Filipino community displayed immense pride as they witnessed the illumination, celebrating their heritage and the spirit of Philippine\u00a0<\/span>Independence. Ph<\/span>otos taken by the community members and the Filipino-American media also circulated online. Other landmarks, such as the Bank of America Financial Center in New York City, were reported to have participated in the illumination campaign.<\/span><\/p>\n
