NEW YORK CITY, <\/strong>15 September 2025<\/strong> \u2014 FILIPINXT, which earned distinction as the first all-Filipino showcase officially included in the New York Fashion Week (NYFW) calendar, returned to New York with a two-day program on 13-14 September 2025 that featured Philippine design, craftsmanship, and creative entrepreneurship, fittingly coinciding with the observance of Philippine Creative Industries Month.<\/span><\/p>

The runway presentation brought together designers from New York and the Philippines \u2013 Bessie Besana, Jo Ann Bitagcol of Bitagcol<\/em>, Skeeter Labastilla-Turgut of Pinas Sadya<\/em>, Sheryl Ann Buenaventura of Style Ana<\/em>, Ram Silva, and Veejay Floresca, who unveiled new-season collections in formal and contemporary wear, and Farah Abu, who presented a line of distinctive accessories. Each showcased unique signature pieces that drew from the depth of Philippine textile traditions and the ingenuity of Filipino design.<\/span><\/p>

Consul General Senen T. Mangalile recognized FILIPINXT\u2019s fourth iteration as a significant milestone for Philippine fashion, citing its role in expanding opportunities for designers while sustaining artisan communities and traditional weaving practices. He lauded the participating designers as fearless ambassadors of Filipino creativity, stating that \u201cbreaking into such a competitive industry requires courage, perseverance, and an unshakeable belief in one\u2019s own talent<\/em>.\u201d<\/span><\/p><\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t

The Filipinxt Marketplace complemented the fashion show as an inaugural platform bringing together pioneering fashion brands from the Philippines alongside Filipino designers and entrepreneurs based in New York City. It showcased runway pieces and capsule collections, introduced new labels and collaborations, and offered public programming through talks and masterclasses that explored contemporary design, industry practices, leadership, advocacy, and Philippine textile heritage.<\/span><\/p>

Through its participation in NYFW, FILIPINXT reaffirmed the growing presence of Philippine design and craftsmanship in the global fashion industry, underscoring how the country\u2019s creative industries contribute to international discourse on innovation, sustainability, and cultural identity. The Philippine Consulate General in New York, for its part, reiterates its support for programs that build on such achievements and translate them into enduring opportunities for Filipino designers, artisans, and brands on the world stage.
