NEW YORK CITY, 20 February 2026<\/strong>\u00a0\u2014 Consul General Senen T. Mangalile addressed the members of the Rotary Club of New York as the featured speaker of the third session of The World Meets in New York: A Consular Speaker Series<\/em> on 17 February 2026 at the Turkish House.<\/span><\/p>

Before a diverse audience of business leaders, non-profit executives, and consular officials, Consul General Mangalile spoke of the Philippines\u2019 political structure, foreign policy pillars, development priorities, and strategic role in Southeast Asia, especially citing the country\u2019s strategic goals as Chair of the ASEAN this year. He also provided context for the celebration of the 80th anniversary of diplomatic relations between the Philippines and the United States this year.<\/span><\/p>

In his presentation, Consul General Mangalile thanked the organizers for the opportunity to deepen the attendees\u2019 understanding of the Philippines. \u201cMy years of service in diplomacy have taught me that the more we understand one another, the better equipped we are to find common ground with others and work towards solutions that benefit everyone,\u201d he said. \u201cDiplomacy is the art of understanding differences while finding common ground, and it is what we need to address global problems,\u201d he added.<\/span><\/p><\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t

After the moderated discussion, Consul General Mangalile was inducted as an Honorary Member of the Rotary Club of New York. A member of the Rotary Club of Manila (RCM), Consul General Mangalile exchanged banners with Mr. Cemil Mujdat Altay, President of RCNY. Established in 1909, RCNY is the sixth Rotary Club in the world. Chartered on June 1, 1919, RCM is the first Rotary Club in Asia.\u00a0<\/span><\/p><\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t
