class=\"elementor-text-editor elementor-clearfix\"><p><span style=\"font-family: georgia, palatino; font-size: 12pt;\"><strong>NEW YORK, 09 May 2026 \u2013 <\/strong>The Philippine Center Management Board (PCMB), in partnership with the Philippine Nurses Association of New York, Inc. (PNA-NY), conducted a cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) training session on 09 May 2026 for personnel of the Philippine Consulate General in New York and PCMB, strengthening their preparedness to respond to medical emergencies.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: georgia, palatino; font-size: 12pt;\">PNA-NY facilitators led the hands-on session based on American Heart Association guidelines. The training covered the proper technique for chest compressions, the use of an automated external defibrillator (AED), CPR procedures for adults and infants, and appropriate responses to choking incidents. Participants were also given the opportunity to practice the techniques under the guidance of the facilitators.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: georgia, palatino; font-size: 12pt;\">The activity was organized as part of continuous efforts to promote safety and readiness among Consulate and PCMB personnel. By equipping participants with basic life-saving skills, the training aimed to help them respond with greater confidence in emergencies where immediate action may be critical while waiting for professional medical responders.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: georgia, palatino; font-size: 12pt;\">Consul General Senen T. Mangalile thanked PNA-NY for sharing its time and expertise with the personnel. As the activity coincided with National Nurses Week, he also extended his greetings to PNA-NY and the Filipino-American nursing community in New York, recognizing their service and continuing contributions to public health and community care.
