NEW YORK, 31 October 2026<\/b> \u2013 The Philippine Consulate General in New York hosted its seventh annual Carbo-Loading Reception for Filipino runners participating in the 2026 New York City Marathon at the Kalayaan Hall of the Philippine Center on 30 October 2026.<\/span><\/span><\/p>

The reception brought together around 160 Filipino runners and supporters ahead of the marathon, allowing participants to meet fellow runners, exchange race-day advice, and build camaraderie before taking on the 26.2-mile course through New York City\u2019s five boroughs.<\/span><\/p><\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t

In her welcome remarks, Consul Anna Guerra congratulated the runners for the discipline, commitment, and perseverance required to prepare for the marathon and assured them of the support of the Filipino community.<\/span><\/p>

\u201c<\/span>Tonight\u2019s gathering is our simple way of saying: we are proud of you, we are cheering for you, and you are not running alone<\/span><\/i>,\u201d Consul Guerra told the participants.<\/span><\/span><\/p>

She noted that the support surrounding the runners reflects the Filipino spirit of bayanihan\u2014helping one another, providing encouragement, and sharing in each other\u2019s achievements.<\/span><\/p>

The Consulate also recognized its running-club partners for the event: Pinoy Runners USA, Pinoy Runners Global, and FilAm TRI.\u00a0 Support for the reception was also provided by JCI Philippine-New York, Knights of Rizal New York Chapter, RGI Alakdan New York, Inc., Triskelion Synergy Inc., Pocari Sweat USA, and Tradicionale Comida Filipina.<\/span><\/p><\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t

The annual Carbo-Loading Reception serves as the Consulate\u2019s welcome and send-off for Filipino participants in the New York City Marathon.
