25 August 2020, New York \u2013 Consul General Claro S. Cristobal recently received a donation of 1,200 pieces of face masks and 30 face shields for the use of the Fil-Am community and guests who go to the Philippine Center  but are not wearing face cover. <\/p>\n

The face masks were handed over by Laura Garcia, National Federation of Filipino American Associations- New York State Chair, Nanding Mendez, President of Fiesta in America, and Dr. Angie Cruz.  The masks were part of a bulk donation of masks from the Office of the New York City Mayor for the Fil-Am community.<\/p>\n

On the other hand, the face shields were donated by Dr. Aida Rivera and Dr. Rommel Rivera of the Philippine Medical Society of Greater Philadelphia (PMSGP).<\/p>\n

Since the reopening of the Consulate on 12 June after the lifting of the lockdown in NYC, the wearing of face mask inside the Philippine Center has been made mandatory to help prevent the spread of Covid-19 as advised by health authorities. Consul General Cristobal thanked NAFFAA and  PMSGP for their donation and said that the face masks and face shields will benefit kababayans who forget to wear face cover when coming to the Consulate.  The Consul General emphasized the importance of following health protocols, including temperature check and hand sanitizing, when entering the Philippine Center to ensure the safety of kababayans and Consulate personnel. \u2013 END<\/p><\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t
