Philippine Consulate General in New York Promotes Philippine Fiber and Textile Program in Rhode Island As part of its Philippine fiber and textile promotion program, the Philippine Consulate General in New York, together with the Philippine Trade and Investment Center (PTIC) in New York, visited Brown University and Rhode Island School of Design (RISD) on Friday the 13th of October 2023 to raise awareness of Philippine indigenous fibers and fabrics as well as explore opportunities for cooperation with their research centers. During the meeting with Brown University officials and design students, Consul General Senen T. Mangalile highlighted the Consulate’s overarching objective to promote Philippine fibers, textiles, and fabrics beyond the confines of the fashion industry. The emphasis was placed not only on fostering their integration within the fashion realm but also on exploring their diverse applications across various sectors.  The Philippine Consulate, together with PTIC, has also engaged with the officials of Drexel University Center for Functional Fabrics, Temple University Tyler School of Art and Architecture, and Thomas Jefferson University in August 2023. New York PCG and PTIC NY partnered with Kulture Ko in organizing the event. Philippine Consulate General in New York Launches New Online Appointment Portal and ePayments System

Philippine Consulate General in New York Launches New Online Appointment Portal and ePayments System New York, 06 October 2023 – The Philippine Consulate General in New York informs the public that beginning 10 October, consular applicants will have the opportunity to pay consular fees using their credit and debit cards. The Consulate has also launched its new online appointment system specifically for Notarial and Dual Citizenship services, which will require the pre-payment of fees for these two transactions. Meanwhile, the process of securing appointments for passport services will remain the same, except for the new option of paying passport fees on-site through credit or debit cards. The Consulate sees this transition as an initial step towards digitizing the delivery of consular services and enhancing the experience for clients. The new online portal with pre-payment is being introduced by the Consulate to deter no-shows and ensure a more efficient allocation of appointment slots.  Prospective clients will be required to make a payment through the online payment portal as part of the process of scheduling their appointments, thereby ensuring their commitment to the appointment they are setting.
