NEW YORK PCG SHINES SPOTLIGHT ON THREE FIL-AMERICAN WOMEN TRAILBLAZERS IN AN EVENING WITH DISTINGUISHED WOMEN The Evening with Distinguished Women is an annual event held by the Philippine Consulate General in New York celebrating the contributions that women of Filipino ancestry have made to the community-at-large. As part of its commemoration of Philippine National Women’s Month, the Philippine Consulate General in New York held “An Evening  with Distinguished Women” on 21 March 2024 at the Kalayaan Hall, Philippine Center with the theme ““Lipunang Patas sa Bagong Pilipinas: Kakayahan ng Kababaihan, Patutunayan!”  The annual event coincided with the celebration of Women’s History Month in the United States.   In his opening remarks, Consul General Senen T. Over 70 guests were in attendance, including representatives from Filipino community organizations, the New York Police Department, various departments of the New York City government, and Filipinos from diverse backgrounds, both Muslim and non-Muslim. The event was organized in partnership with the Kinding Sindaw Heritage Foundation, Inc., and it aimed to promote unity and solidarity among Filipinos of all faith traditions. During the event, Consul General Senen T. Mangalile welcomed the participants and highlighted the shared values that unite all Filipinos, regardless of their religious beliefs. Everyone was urged to work together in helping others overcome barriers, address inequality, and ensure that all Filipinos can benefit from the promise of Bagong Pilipinas. JOB VACANCIES: ONE (1) BUILDING MAINTENANCE PERSONNEL/HANDYMAN The Philippine Consulate General in New York invites all who are interested and qualified to apply for the position of Building Maintenance Personnel/Handyman. The successful applicant will perform the following tasks: - Inspection of the building and its common areas, elevator, sidewalk, yard, and main entrance. - Maintain cleanliness and proper housekeeping and disposal of garbage & recyclables, in accordance with applicable laws and regulations. - Implementation of all Training Manuals necessary for the upkeep of the building. - Building maintenance and repairs, which include, among others, simple carpentry, plumbing, and electrical work. - Respond promptly to emergency calls and take the necessary actions to ensure the safety and security of the building and its occupants. - Serve as point person for all occupant-related issues; and  - Perform any other duties reasonably necessary for the proper maintenance and operation of the building.
