New York PCG Celebrates Philippine History And Heritage Through Sinehan Sa Konsulado 2024 New York, 30 August 2024 – The Philippine Consulate General in New York successfully hosted the 2024 Sinehan sa Konsulado (SSK), a flagship cultural initiative that celebrates the richness of Philippine cinema and its role in reflecting Filipino history, culture, and values. Held from 27-29 August at the King Juan Carlos I of Spain Center (KJCC), New York University, this year’s series featured the screenings of four significant films: José Rizal, Pag-asa, Ang Huling Katipunero, and Hinabing Pag-asa. President Quezon Day Celebrated at Saranac Lake in New York Guests learn more about President Quezon’s life and legacy at a special exhibit featured at the Saranac Laboratory Museum. Quezon, second president of the Republic of the Philippines, who stayed in Saranac Lake 80 years ago. To start the day, an extensive opening ceremony took place at Harrietstown Town Hall with more than 300 people in attendance, many of whom were Filipino-Americans from North Country and parts of the New York state.
