Press Release EGC-027-20226 October 2022 PINAY POWER IN FINANCE SHOWCASED IN NEW YORK New York, 06 October 2022 – As part of the celebration of the Filipino American History Month, the Philippine Consulate General in New York and the International Society of Filipinos in Finance and Accounting (ISFFA) – New York Chapter, held a panel discussion dubbed as “Pinay Power” on Thursday, 05 October 2022 at the Philippine Center.ISFFA NY, established in July 2019, is a nonprofit 501(c)3 public benefit corporation whose primary goal is to assist, educate, train, and mentor emerging professionals, both domestically as well as globally. Press Release EGC-026-20223 October 2022 TASTE OF THE PHILIPPINES SHOWCASED IN PHILADELPHIA New York, 03 October 2022 – As part of the celebration of the Filipino American History Month (FAHM), the Philippine Consulate General in New York participated in the “Taste of the Philippines”, a culinary and cultural show held on Sunday, 02 October 2022 at Cherry Street Pier, Philadelphia.The Taste of the Philippines was organized by the Philippine American Chamber of Commerce of Greater Philadelphia (PACC-GP) in cooperation with the Asian American Chamber of Commerce, Federation of Philippine American Chamber of Commerce, National Federation of Filipino American Associations (NaFFAA), Filipino American Association of Pittsburg (FAAP), Philippine Folk Arts Society Inc. (PFASI), Kapitbayan Filipino American Association Inc., and Philly Pinoy, among others, with the support of the Consulate.Folk dances such as Banga, Jota Pangasinan, Paseo De Iloilo, Kadal Tajo, Paunjalay, Tapis, and Dinagyang were performed by the Filipino American youth of the Filipino American Association of Pittsburgh during the event. Press Release EGC-025-2022 21 September 2022 ART EXHIBIT “SHARED VISION” ON DISPLAY AT THE PHILIPPINE CENTER IN NEW YORK New York, 21 September 2022 - The Philippine Consulate General in New York and the Philippine Center New York are showcasing an Art Exhibit “Shared Vision”, a collaboration among Philippine-based and New York-based artists, at the lobby gallery of the Philippine Center. The exhibit runs from 19 to 30 September 2022. Among the featured artists are Philippine-based artists Celso Pepito, Fe Pepito, and Marlowe Villagonzalo, and New York-based Luis Caraos, Bobby Yalong, and Philippine Center Management Board (PCMB) employee Romeo Cortez. An opening reception was held on Tuesday, 20 September 2022 at 6:30pm at the Philippine Center Lobby Gallery. Deputy Consul General Arman R. Press Release EGC-024-20224 August 2022 ART EXHIBIT OF YOUNG FIL-AM ARTISTS OPENS IN NEW YORK New York, 1 August 2022- The Philippine Consulate General and the Philippine Center in New York are showcasing a one-of-a-kind exhibit called “Home Sweet Home” at the lobby gallery of the Philippine Center from 1-12 August 2022 featuring a group of young Filipino-American artists.The event was organized and conceptualized in coordination with the Fresh Off the Boat Boys and Girls or FOBBS, a collective of young Filipino-American street and contemporary artists based in New York City.  The members of FOBBS have done street art exhibitions and projects for New York companies and businesses, and as a group, have shown their works in different exhibitions in the city in the past years.FOBBS’ goal is to engage and help educate their community and supporters, whether they are Filipinos or not, on their Filipino heritage and culture through their art.  The group’s membership has been growing since their last exhibit at the Philippine Center in 2019.Through this art exhibit, the Philippine Consulate General and the Philippine Center highlight the contributions of contemporary and emerging Filipino-American artists in shaping the art landscape in the US.A reception with the artists…
