President Quezon Day Celebrated at Saranac Lake in New York Guests learn more about President Quezon’s life and legacy at a special exhibit featured at the Saranac Laboratory Museum. Quezon, second president of the Republic of the Philippines, who stayed in Saranac Lake 80 years ago. To start the day, an extensive opening ceremony took place at Harrietstown Town Hall with more than 300 people in attendance, many of whom were Filipino-Americans from North Country and parts of the New York state. A large group of Filipino Canadians representing various Filipino organizations based in Montreal also came for the event.  Guest speakers and local officials paid homage to Filipino culture and history as well as to pay tribute to President Quezon, who served from 15 November 1935 up to the time of his death on 01 August 1944. Please note that the Consulate will no longer honor any payments made through this online system after this date. We are currently in the process of developing a new, more efficient online appointment and payment system and will notify the public as soon as it becomes available. In the interim, all payments must be made in cash, money order, or cashier's check payable to the Philippine Consulate General in New York. (Photo by Mr. Jose Magaso) NEW YORK, 24 July 2024 – The Philippine Consulate General in New York successfully conducted its third Consular Outreach Mission of the year in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania known as the northern urban industrial anchor of the Appalachian region of the United States. The consular outreach was conducted on 20 July 2024 from 9:00 am to 4:00 pm. at the Philippine Center in West Mifflin, PA. The mission served over 80 Filipinos residing in Pittsburgh, and nearby states like Ohio and West Virginia. The outreach mission was conducted in partnership with the Filipino-American Association of Pittsburgh, Inc. (FAAP), led by its President, Ms. Lani Mears.
