Magaso)On 12 June, a special flag raising ceremony was held at the Philippine Center in New York to commemorate the 126th Anniversary of Philippine Independence under this year’s theme, “Kalayaan, Kinabukasan, Kasaysayan.” The ceremony was participated in by the officers and staff of the Philippine Permanent Mission to the United Nations and the Philippine Consulate General in New York. Independence Day messages of President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. and Secretary for Foreign Affairs Enrique A. Manalo were played. In his message, Philippine Ambassador Jose Manuel G. Romualdez called on the Filipino Community in the United States of America and the Caribbean to unite and honor the sacrifices of our ancestors who secured our nation’s sovereignty and safeguarded our national identity.  The Philippine Permanent Mission to the United Nations and the Philippine Consulate General in New York pose for a photo after the flag ceremony.
