PRESS RELEASE 09 August 2023 Sentro Rizal New York Brings Mars Ravelo's works to the U.S. East Coast In celebration of “Buwan ng Wikang Pambansa” (National Language Month) the Philippine Consulate General in New York and Sentro Rizal New York bring Filipino Pop Culture to the public through a mobile exhibit presenting the iconic works of a prolific writer, artist, and illustrator - who is often referred to as the "King of Philippine Komiks” - Mars Ravelo.This is the first time that a collection of Mars Ravelo’s works is being featured abroad.Launched at Bergenfield Public Library on Wednesday, 09 August 2023, the exhibit is entitled, “Pagdama sa Diwang Pilipino sa Pamamagitan ng Wikang Filipino sa Komiks” (Sensing Filipino Consciousness through Filipino Language in Comics). New York PCG Conducts Consular Outreach Activity In Albany, New York

PRESS RELEASE 07 August 2023 New York PCG Conducts Consular Outreach Activity In Albany, New York The Consulate General of the Philippines continues with its Consular Outreach season for 2023 by travelling to Albany, New York for its Consular Outreach service which was held from 05-06 August which benefitted nearly 150 kababayan. The consular outreach mission was a co-sponsored by the Kalayaan 1521 Council Inc. and the Alpha Phi Omega Alumni Association of Greater New York. The consular mission provided passport renewal, dual citizenship, and notarial services for members of the Filipino community in the Capital Region of New York State as well as surrounding areas. A total of 139 services were extended during the mission in Albany. Mr. Sol Kapunan of Kalayaan 1521 Council Inc, commended the Consulate Team for a job well done. “On behalf of the Filipino Community in Albany and the Greater Capital Region, we continue to support you all, our heroes from the Consulate. Press Release 07 June 2023 Philippine Consulate General New York Participates in the Celebration of Philippine Independence Day in Queensborough, Queens, New York Queens Borough President Donovan Richards Jr. hosted a Philippine Independence Day celebration at the Helen Marshall Cultural Center in Kew Gardens, New York on 6 June 2023drawing more than two hundred Filipino Americans and special guests.In his remarks, Queens Borough President Richards expressed his whole-hearted appreciation to the Filipino-American community residing in Queens, even as he praised them for their friendliness and hardworking nature.Four Filipino-Americans, active in the field of the arts and local government and residents of Queens Borough, were honored by President Richards at the evening event. Philippine culture was celebrated through a Filipino buffet food fest as well as the colorful and energetic performance of the MassKara Dance Group from Bacolod, Philippines, and an indigenous dance and martial arts performance by non-profit theater group Kinding Sindaw. Public Advisory on Updated Requirements for Foreign Spouses, Children and and Parents of Philippine Citizens

ADVISORY No. 14-2021 23 July 2021 UPDATED REQUIREMENTS FOR FOREIGN SPOUSES, CHILDREN AND PARENTS OF PHILIPPINE CITIZENS Consistent with the resolutions promulgated by the Inter-Agency Task Force for the Management of Emerging Infectious Diseases (IATF), beginning 01 August 2021, foreign nationals who are spouses, parents and/or children of Filipino citizens may apply for a 9(a) visa in the Consulate without being required to secure an Entry Exemption Document (EED), whether or not they are traveling with the Filipino citizen. Moreover, all foreign nationals who currently hold valid and existing 9(g) and 47(a)(2) visas shall no longer be required to secure an EED to enter the Philippines. Entry into the country is still subject to the prevailing COVID-19 testing and quarantine protocols, as appropriate.
