PCG NEW YORK REITERATES REMINDER TO KABABAYAN TO TAKE PRECAUTIONS AND BE VIGILANT DUE TO ANOTHER ANTI-ASIAN ATTACK INVOLVING ANOTHER FILIPINO
The Philippine Consulate General in New York reiterates its reminder for members of the Filipino Community to always be vigilant and to take the necessary precautions, especially when taking the subway or when outside their residences. This reminder is being issued in the wake of yet another pushing incident in the subway that resulted to injuries to another kababayan. The latest incident involved a kababayan in her late 50s who struck her head after she was shoved by an unidentified man while going down the stairs at the 179th Street station of the F train in Jamaica on Thursday. The incident came hours after a 65-year-old kababayan sustained injuries after she was pushed down by an unidentified man at the Long Island Rail Road (LIRR) train platform also in Jamaica. The Consulate reminds kababayan to report such incidents to authorities by calling 911. Kababayan are also requested to inform the Consulate of any such incidents by calling its Assistance to Nationals hotline at (917) 239-4119.
