The Philippine Consulate General in New York invites all who are interested and qualified to apply for the position of Building Maintenance Personnel/Handyman.

The successful applicant will perform the following tasks:

– Inspection of the building and its common areas, elevator, sidewalk, yard, and main entrance.

– Maintain cleanliness and proper housekeeping and disposal of garbage & recyclables, in accordance with applicable laws and regulations.

– Implementation of all Training Manuals necessary for the upkeep of the building.

– Building maintenance and repairs, which include, among others, simple carpentry, plumbing, and electrical work.

– Respond promptly to emergency calls and take the necessary actions to ensure the safety and security of the building and its occupants.

– Serve as point person for all occupant-related issues; and 

– Perform any other duties reasonably necessary for the proper maintenance and operation of the building.

The position requires reporting at the Consulate for five (5) days a week and for a minimum of eight (8) hours of service per day from Monday to Friday.  

The prospective applicant must:

 (a) possess the relevant work experience;

 (b) be a US citizen or holder of a permanent resident card;

 (c) have no criminal record.

The basic compensation is US$3,422.00 a month.
