New York PCG Celebrates Arts Month 2025 with ‘Lonely Nights’

NEW YORK, 29 January 2025 – The Philippine Consulate General in New York commemorated National Arts Month 2025 with the launch of Lonely Nights, a solo exhibition by Filipino artist Sean Santos, at the Philippine Center Lobby Gallery.
Inspired by his childhood fascination with Vincent van Gogh and later influenced by the raw intensity of Francis Bacon, Santos channels vivid childhood nightmares into powerful expressions of emotion, introspection, and solace—his own lonely nights. The exhibit reflects this year’s National Arts Month theme, “Ani ng Sining, Diwa at Damdamin,” which highlights the depth of artistic expression shaped by the human spirit and emotions.

Consul General Senen T. Mangalile, in his remarks before an audience of over 50 guests, reaffirmed the Consulate’s commitment to supporting Filipino artists on the global stage. He described Lonely Nights as a compelling exploration of human emotion, resonating with both personal and shared experiences.
The exhibition is open for public viewing until 7 February 2025. END
