NEW YORK CITY, 28 January 2026 – Consul General Senen T. Mangalile received a phone call today from newly-elected Jersey City Mayor James Solomon to exchange views on possible areas of engagement with the Philippine Consulate General in New York and the Filipino-American community in Jersey City.

During the call, Mayor Solomon sought Consul General Mangalile’s ideas on ways to support the Filipino-American community in Jersey City. In response, Consul General Mangalile underscored continued support for Filipino-American community activities, the promotion of Philippine culture and values, opportunities to enhance trade and investment engagement, and civic and political participation among Filipino-Americans.

Both officials agreed to work together in pursuing initiatives that promote people-to-people ties and highlight Filipino-American contributions, in the spirit of the 80th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the Philippines and the US.
