Public Advisory: Alien Immigrants with Expired ACR-I Cards Now Allowed Entry Into the Philippines

ADVISORY No. 18-2021 22 August 2021 PUBLIC ADVISORY: HURRICANE HENRI DOWNGRADED TO A TROPICAL STORM The Philippine Consulate General in New York wishes to inform kababayan that the National Hurricane Center of the National Weather Service has downgraded Hurricane Henri to a Tropical Storm as it moved closer to the coast of Long Island and New England today.As of 8 a.m., the center of Henri’s circulation sat about 40 miles south-southeast of Montauk Point, with top winds of 70 mph. It’s moving to the north-northwest at 16 mph, and is expected to make landfall on eastern Long Island or southern New England later today. The change in track reduced the probability that New York City will see sustained tropical storm force winds in excess of 39 mph.Heavy rainfall is still expected, especially over portions of Long Island, New England, southeast New York, New Jersey and northeast Pennsylvania, which may result in considerable flash, urban, and small stream flooding, along with the potential for widespread minor to isolated moderate river flooding.The downgraded system continues to pose a storm surge threat for parts of New York City, particularly areas of northeast Queens, where tides may reach three to five feet higher than…

ADVISORY No. 17-2021 21 August 2021 PUBLIC ADVISORY: UPDATES ON HURRICANE HENRI The Philippine Consulate General in New York reiterates its urgent call for members of the Filipino Community in New York and New England to brace themselves for Hurricane Henri, which is expected to sweep through the area beginning this evening. Kababayan are urged to heed instructions from authorities, particularly in areas where a state of emergency has been declared such as parts of New York, including Long Island, New York City, and Hudson Valley, and Rhode Island, and where emergency preparations are underway such as Connecticut. Hurricane Henri is expected to bring damaging winds, three to six inches of rain with isolated totals of up to 10 inches and up to five feet of storm surges that could raise water levels near the coast and be accompanied by large and dangerous waves. Public Advisory on Tropical Storm Henri

ADVISORY No. 16-2021 20 August 2021 PUBLIC ADVISORY ON TROPICAL STOR HENRI The Philippine Consulate General advises members of the Filipino Community along the path of Tropical Storm Henri, especially those residents of New England and Long Island, to monitor the movement of the storm, undertake all necessary preparations, and heed the warnings of local officials as the storm is expected to bring heavy rains, strong winds and heavy surf, which could cause life-threatening flash floods. In addition, there is the danger of storm surge that could raise water levels near the coast and be accompanied by large and dangerous waves. Meteorologists warn that this is the most serious hurricane risk in New England in 30 years. According to the US National Hurricane Center (NHC), “Henri is forecast to intensify into a hurricane by Friday night with additional strengthening expected this weekend.” It has issued hurricane watches for a slew of areas ranging from the South Shore of Long Island, New York, to Massachusetts’s Nantucket, Martha’s Vineyard and Block Island as well a tropical storm watches for some areas nearby the New York City metro area. Public Advisory on Updated Requirements for Foreign Spouses, Children and and Parents of Philippine Citizens

ADVISORY No. 14-2021 23 July 2021 UPDATED REQUIREMENTS FOR FOREIGN SPOUSES, CHILDREN AND PARENTS OF PHILIPPINE CITIZENS Consistent with the resolutions promulgated by the Inter-Agency Task Force for the Management of Emerging Infectious Diseases (IATF), beginning 01 August 2021, foreign nationals who are spouses, parents and/or children of Filipino citizens may apply for a 9(a) visa in the Consulate without being required to secure an Entry Exemption Document (EED), whether or not they are traveling with the Filipino citizen. Moreover, all foreign nationals who currently hold valid and existing 9(g) and 47(a)(2) visas shall no longer be required to secure an EED to enter the Philippines. Entry into the country is still subject to the prevailing COVID-19 testing and quarantine protocols, as appropriate.
