Public Advisory: Updates on Hurricane Henri
ADVISORY No. 17-2021 21 August 2021 PUBLIC ADVISORY: UPDATES ON HURRICANE HENRI The Philippine Consulate General in New York reiterates its urgent call for members of the Filipino Community in New York and New England to brace themselves for Hurricane Henri, which is expected to sweep through the area beginning this evening. Kababayan are urged to heed instructions from authorities, particularly in areas where a state of emergency has been declared such as parts of New York, including Long Island, New York City, and Hudson Valley, and Rhode Island, and where emergency preparations are underway such as Connecticut. Hurricane Henri is expected to bring damaging winds, three to six inches of rain with isolated totals of up to 10 inches and up to five feet of storm surges that could raise water levels near the coast and be accompanied by large and dangerous waves.
