22 April 2018 - As part of its ongoing effort to engage with Filipinos and Filipino-Americans in the US Northeast Region through Sports Diplomacy, the Philippine Consulate General in New York personnel formed the PHL Basketball Team and participated in the NJ Baller Winter Basketball Tournament in Jersey City, New Jersey from January 28 – April 22, 2018.

NEW YORK, 28 April 2018 – The ASEAN Consulates General in New York, through the initiative of the Philippine Consulate General and in cooperation with the International Political Economy and Development Department of Fordham University, gathered together their communities at the McNally Ampitheater at Fordham University for the first ever ASEAN Short Film Festival on 28 April 2018. Indonesia, Malaysia, Myanmar, Philippines, Singapore and Thailand participated in the Festival with a short film entry each from their respective countries.

NEW YORK, 17 April 2018 – Four young self-made Filipino-Americans spoke on their success narratives at the East Coast launch of TFCU Talks, jointly hosted by the Philippine Consulate General in New York and The Filipino Channel (TFC) last 14 April at the Philippine Center in New York.
NEW YORK, 16 April 2018 – Diskubre Tour, the heritage tour for young Filipino-Americans aged 18-35, was launched last 14 April at the Kalayaan Hall of the Philippine Center in New York. It was officially presented during the New York event for TFCU Talks that spotlighted the stories and journeys of Jhett Tolentino, Sarah Meier, Norman Dalager, and Rich Tu.

NEW YORK, 26 March 2018 – DACA, racism, reverse brain drain, parental love, and family values were the core of the skits during the 17th Battle of the Barrios – the annual talent competition among Filipino student organizations under District 3 of the Filipino Intercollegiate Networking Dialogue (FIND) – held last 24 March at the Douglas Student Center of Rutgers University in New Brunswick, New Jersey.
29 March 2018, New York – The Philippine Consulate General in New York invited women from the Filipino Community to take part in a Wellness Session featuring Zumba routines led by instructor Shiran Ybañez on 27 March 2018 at the Philippine Center in New York. The activity capped the month-long commemoration of Women's Month by the Philippine Consulate General.
