Before a diverse audience of business leaders, non-profit executives, and consular officials, Consul General Mangalile spoke of the Philippines’ political structure, foreign policy pillars, development priorities, and strategic role in Southeast Asia, especially citing the country’s strategic goals as Chair of the ASEAN this year. He also provided context for the celebration of the 80th anniversary of diplomatic relations between the Philippines and the United States this year.

In his presentation, Consul General Mangalile thanked the organizers for the opportunity to deepen the attendees’ understanding of the Philippines. “My years of service in diplomacy have taught me that the more we understand one another, the better equipped we are to find common ground with others and work towards solutions that benefit everyone,” he said. “Diplomacy is the art of understanding differences while finding common ground, and it is what we need to address global problems,” he added.
