NEW YORK PCG CONDUCTS CONSULAR OUTREACH ACTIVITY IN BERGENFIELD, NEW JERSEY

The Consulate General of the Philippines kicked off its Consular Outreach program for the year on Saturday with its “Konsulado on the Go” service in Bergenfield, New Jersey that served nearly 300 Kababayan.

The consular outreach mission, which was undertaken in partnership with Bergenfield Mayor Arvin Amatorio, provided passport renewal, dual citizenship, and notarial services for members of the Filipino community in the area.

A total of 167 services were extended during the mission in Bergenfield, which hosts one of the biggest Filipino population in New Jersey.

Mayor Amatorio expressed his appreciation to the Consulate and to the Consular Team led by Consul Ricarte Abejuela III for accommodating his constituents.

Kababayan also commended the team for their professionalization, friendliness, and efficiency. The outreach services were highly appreciated especially by the senior citizens who said it saved them time and effort to travel all the way to New York City.  The community and the organizers all look forward to a repeat visit in the near future.

The Consulate has scheduled other outreach missions in the coming months as part of its efforts to extend consular services to other kababayan. Last year it conducted 13 outreach missions that served more than 2,000 kababayan. END.
