Restrictions on Travel of Balikbayans to the Philippines Lifted

ADVISORY No. 11-2021 30 April 2021 RESTRICTIONS ON TRAVEL OF BALIKBAYAN TO THE PHILIPPINES LIFTED Effective Saturday, 1 May 2021, kababayan in the United States who are covered by the Balikbayan Program, under Republic Act No. 6768, can now again travel to the Philippines. Resolution 113 of the the Inter-Agency Task Force on Emerging and Infectious Diseases (IATF) dated 29 April 2021 will now allow travel to the Philippines of former Filipino citizens, together with their foreign spouses and children, regardless of age, who are traveling with them as well as Filipino citizens’ foreign spouses and children, regardless of age, who are traveling with them. Foreign nationals allowed under previous IATF resolutions can now also travel to the Philippines as long as they are in possession of a valid and existing visa at the time of entry, except for those qualified under the aforementioned Balikbayan Program. Balikbayan and other foreign nationals who are planning to travel to the Philippines are required to have pre-booked accommodations for at least seven nights in an accredited quarantine hotel/facility and will have to undergo coronavirus disease testing at the quarantine hotel/facility on the sixth day from date of arrival. Statement on the Arrest of Suspect in Violent Assault on 65-Year-Old Filipina in Manhattan

ADVISORY No. 10-2021 31 March 2021 STATEMENT ON THE ARREST OF SUSPECT IN VIOLENT ASSAULT ON 65-YEAR-OLD FILIPINA IN MANHATTAN The Consulate General of the Republic of the Philippines in New York welcomes the arrest this morning of the suspect in the violent assault of a 65-year-old Filipina in Midtown Manhattan on Monday. We thank the New York Police Department (NYPD) and all those who, in one way or another, contributed to the efforts that led to the arrest of Brandon Elliot. In view of the alarming surge in hate crimes against members of the Asian Community in the United States, the Consulate General would like to remind our kababayans in New York and surrounding areas to remain vigilant and to immediately report any incident by calling 911 or the Asian Hate Crimes Task Force of the NYPD at 1-800-440-HATE.

Philippines Suspends Entry of Foreign Nationals From 22 March to 21 April 2021

ADVISORY No. 9-2021 19 March 2021 PHILIPPINES SUSPENDS ENTRY OF FOREIGN NATIONALS FROM 22 MARCH TO 21 APRIL 2021 In light of efforts to prevent the entry of SARS-CoV-2 variants from other countries and the further rise of  cases, please be informed that the Philippines is implementing the following travel restrictions beginning 0001H of 22 March 2021 until 2359H 21 April 2021: a. All Filipino citizens whether returning Overseas Filipino or Overseas Filipino Worker shall be allowed to return to the Philippines; b. The entry of foreign nationals shall be temporarily suspended, except for the following:      i. Diplomats and members of international organizations, and their dependents provided they hold a valid 9(e) visa or 47(a)(2) visa, as the case may be, at the time of entry;    ii. ADVISORY No. 4-2021 31 January 2021 WINTER STORM WATCH IN EFFECT BEGINNING TONIGHT, 31 JANUARY 2021 The Philippine Consulate General in New York wishes to inform the public that the National Weather Service has issued a Winter Storm Watch beginning 7PM tonight, 31 January 2021 to 6AM of Tuesday, 02 February 2021, with the heaviest snowfall expected during 01 February 2021. Much of the tri-state area could see between 6 and 12 inches of snow. The Philippine Consulate advises the community to take the necessary precautions. As of today, there are no plans to suspend consular operations for tomorrow, 01 February 2021, although this may change depending on the announcements of the New York City local government on the prevailing weather conditions. ADVISORY No. 3-2021 22 January 2021 IMPORTANT AMENDMENTS TO PH TRAVEL AND QUARANTINE RESTRICTIONS The Philippine Consulate General in New York wishes to inform the public of the following important amendments relating to Philippine travel and quarantine restrictions that seek to address the public health threats posed by the Covid-19 variants: FOREIGN PASSENGERS will CONTINUE TO BE PROHIBITED from entering the Philippines until 31 January 2021 if they are coming from the countries/territories covered by the entry restrictions relating to the Covid-19 variants, including the UNITED STATES, or have been to any or more of these countries within 14 days prior to their arrival. FILIPINO CITIZENS, including dual citizens, may enter the Philippines. They shall be tested upon arrival and shall be quarantined until the result of a subsequent test administered on the fifth day is released.
