Public Advisory: Quarantine Period for Fully Vaccinated Filipinos from US Shortened from Five to Three Days

ADVISORY No. 24-2021 19 November 2021 QUARANTINE PERIOD FOR FULLY VACCINATED FILIPINOS FROM US SHORTENED FROM FIVE TO THREE DAYS The Philippine Consulate General in New York wishes to inform the public that kababayan from the United States will have a much easier time going back home to the Philippines this holiday season. Per Resolution No. 149-A of the Inter-Agency Task Force on the Management of Infectious Diseases (IATF), starting November 22, fully-vaccinated individuals who have pre-departure RT-PCR tests within 72 hours will only need to undergo facility-based quarantine for three (3) days instead of the previously required five (5) days. After the third day, they would have to take an RT-PCR test. Once the test results turn out negative, they are enjoined to self-monitor up to the 14th day from the date of their arrival. This latest development will greatly contribute to the on-going recovery of the tourism sector this holiday season while also providing more time to those who want to return home to be with their loved ones in the Philippines. ADVISORY No. 23-2021 20 October 2021 REDUCED QUARANTINE TIME FOR FULLY VACCINATED FILIPINOS TRAVELING TO THE PHILIPPINES The Philippine Consulate General in New York wishes to inform the members of the Filipino Community that vaccinated kababayan traveling from the United States will now have reduced quarantine time upon arrival in the Philippines.Per Resolution No. 144-A of the Inter-Agency Task Force on the  Management of Emerging Infectious Diseases (IATF), authorities have relaxed quarantine requirements to allow fully vaccinated kababayan from the US to undergo facility-based quarantine for only five days instead of the previously required seven days.For kababayan to be released from facility-based quarantine, they must test negative for the coronavirus disease on the RT-PCR test to be taken on the fifth day of their confinement. On behalf of the Philippine Consulate General in New York, I would like to thank all of you for joining us here this afternoon in this memorial mass for our departed kababayan, Maria Luningning Ambrocio. I also would like to thank Father Julian Jagudilla and the Franciscan Community for opening the doors of the Church of St. Francis of Assisi to allow us to pay our final respects to someone who had been an active member of the Church and the community. At the height of the coronavirus pandemic last year, Luningning posted a Facebook profile photo of her in scrubs, face mask, and face shield with a caption that read: “I cannot stay at home, I am a nurse!” And like the thousands of Filipino nurses and other healthcare workers across the United States, Luningning was there in the frontline against Covid-19. Cato met with Filipino officials, personnel, and students of Harvard University on 29 September 2021 in Cambridge, Massachusetts. The event hosted by Harvard Board of Overseas member Geraldine Acuña-Sunshine, was attended by incoming and returning Harvard students across degree programs. Harvard staff and fellows including Maria Carolina V. Dominguez, Harvard Business School Alumni Board member, and Myrish Cadapan Antonio, Director at the Harvard Kennedy School. Overseas Voter Registration Extended Until 14 October

ADVISORY No. 21-2021 29 September 2021 OVERSEAS VOTER REGISTRATION EXTENDED UNTIL 14 OCTOBER The Consulate General of the Philippines in New York wishes to inform all kababayan that pursuant to the decision of the Commission on Elections dated 29 September 2021, the period for overseas voting registration has been extended for two (2) weeks until 14 October 2021. Registration will continue at the Consulate from Mondays to Fridays, except US and Philippine holidays, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Philippine Center in Manhattan. No appointments are necessary. Under the Overseas Absentee Voting Act of 2003, all qualified Philippine citizens, including dual citizens, who are not disqualified by law, and who are at least 18 years of age may register as an overseas voter at the Philippine Center in New York. Existing overseas voters who have changed addresses, changed their names due to marriage, among others, or have corrections in their entries should likewise modify or update their registration with the Consulate.
