Press Release EGC-029-2022 24 October 2022 NEW YORK PCG CONDUCTS CONSULAR OUTREACH ACTIVITY IN BRISTOL, CONNECTICUT The Consulate General of the Philippines winds up its Consular Outreach season for 2022 by travelling to Bristol, Connecticut for its second to the last “Konsulado on the Go” service for the year which benefitted over 200 kababayan. The consular outreach mission was a co-sponsored by the Pilipino Association of Connecticut, Inc., in cooperation with Philippine-American Association of Connecticut and KIDS Philippines. The consular mission provided passport renewal, dual citizenship, civil registry, and notarial services for members of the Filipino community in Connecticut. A total of 205 consular services were extended during the mission in Bristol. Mr. Bienvenido Balaoing of the Pilipino Association of Connecticut, Inc. commended the Consulate Team for an excellent job. “It was a very successful and efficient outreach event. The Filipino community really appreciates the Consulate coming here because our kababayan no longer have to travel all the way to New York to avail of your services,” Mr. Balaoing said. Press Release EGC-028-2022 11 October 2022 HARVARD SQUARE EXPERIENCES FIRST FILIPINO AMERICAN FESTIVAL NEW YORK, 09 October 2022 – In celebration of the Filipino American History Month, the Harvard Square Philippine Alliance (HSPA), in collaboration with the Philippine Consulate General in New York, held the first Filipino American Festival on October 9, 2022 at Harvard Square in Cambridge, Massachusetts. The event coincided with the 43rd Annual Oktoberfest and Honk Parade. The Consulate delegation was headed by Consul Ricarte Abejuela III, who joined HSPAA organizers in the Honk parade which lasted for almost two hours starting from Davis Square to Harvard Square. The spectators were amazed by the Filipino-American contingents from Cebu Inc, Gingoognons in the USA, and the Mutya Philippine Dance Company of Philadelphia, with their colorful costumes and graceful street dancing. The 43-year annual event, which took place on Church St. and Brattle St., has been hosted in the Square every year since 1978. Several live music stages were set up throughout the Square, featuring an array of bands from Cambridge and beyond. Press Release EGC-026-20223 October 2022 TASTE OF THE PHILIPPINES SHOWCASED IN PHILADELPHIA New York, 03 October 2022 – As part of the celebration of the Filipino American History Month (FAHM), the Philippine Consulate General in New York participated in the “Taste of the Philippines”, a culinary and cultural show held on Sunday, 02 October 2022 at Cherry Street Pier, Philadelphia.The Taste of the Philippines was organized by the Philippine American Chamber of Commerce of Greater Philadelphia (PACC-GP) in cooperation with the Asian American Chamber of Commerce, Federation of Philippine American Chamber of Commerce, National Federation of Filipino American Associations (NaFFAA), Filipino American Association of Pittsburg (FAAP), Philippine Folk Arts Society Inc. Press Release EGC-025-2022 21 September 2022 ART EXHIBIT “SHARED VISION” ON DISPLAY AT THE PHILIPPINE CENTER IN NEW YORK New York, 21 September 2022 - The Philippine Consulate General in New York and the Philippine Center New York are showcasing an Art Exhibit “Shared Vision”, a collaboration among Philippine-based and New York-based artists, at the lobby gallery of the Philippine Center. The exhibit runs from 19 to 30 September 2022. Among the featured artists are Philippine-based artists Celso Pepito, Fe Pepito, and Marlowe Villagonzalo, and New York-based Luis Caraos, Bobby Yalong, and Philippine Center Management Board (PCMB) employee Romeo Cortez. Press Release EGC-024-20224 August 2022 ART EXHIBIT OF YOUNG FIL-AM ARTISTS OPENS IN NEW YORK New York, 1 August 2022- The Philippine Consulate General and the Philippine Center in New York are showcasing a one-of-a-kind exhibit called “Home Sweet Home” at the lobby gallery of the Philippine Center from 1-12 August 2022 featuring a group of young Filipino-American artists.The event was organized and conceptualized in coordination with the Fresh Off the Boat Boys and Girls or FOBBS, a collective of young Filipino-American street and contemporary artists based in New York City.  The members of FOBBS have done street art exhibitions and projects for New York companies and businesses, and as a group, have shown their works in different exhibitions in the city in the past years.FOBBS’ goal is to engage and help educate their community and supporters, whether they are Filipinos or not, on their Filipino heritage and culture through their art.  The group’s membership has been growing since their last exhibit at the Philippine Center in 2019.Through this art exhibit, the Philippine Consulate General and the Philippine Center highlight the contributions of contemporary and emerging Filipino-American artists in shaping the art landscape in the US.A reception with the artists…

Press Release EGC-023-2022 2 August 2022 PHILIPPINE CONSULATE GENERAL CONDUCTS CONSULAR OUTREACH IN NEEDHAM, MASSACHUSETTS NEW YORK – Close to 400 Filipinos in Massachusetts were served during the Konsulado On The Go conducted by the Philippine Consulate General in New York on 30-31 July 2022. The outreach team led by Deputy Consul General Arman R. Talbo rendered a total of 369 services during the two-day outreach which includes 205 passport applications, 67 legal documents, 12 civil registrations, and 85 applications for dual citizenship.  The outreach mission was held in partnership with community leader Mr. Rudy Hermosa with the support of the Philippine Nurses Association – New England and other Filipino-American groups and associations in the area. The Consulate conferred a plaque of appreciation to Mr. Hermosa for his outstanding service and contribution to the Filipino Community by organizing the Consular Outreach in Needham, Massachusetts for 30 years since 1992. Members of the Filipino Community expressed their sincere appreciation for the outreach program of the Consulate which brings the consular services closer to them without the need to travel 5-6 hours to New York to avail themselves consular services such as passports and other necessary documents.
