Press Release EGC-025-2022 21 September 2022 ART EXHIBIT “SHARED VISION” ON DISPLAY AT THE PHILIPPINE CENTER IN NEW YORK New York, 21 September 2022 - The Philippine Consulate General in New York and the Philippine Center New York are showcasing an Art Exhibit “Shared Vision”, a collaboration among Philippine-based and New York-based artists, at the lobby gallery of the Philippine Center. The exhibit runs from 19 to 30 September 2022. Among the featured artists are Philippine-based artists Celso Pepito, Fe Pepito, and Marlowe Villagonzalo, and New York-based Luis Caraos, Bobby Yalong, and Philippine Center Management Board (PCMB) employee Romeo Cortez. An opening reception was held on Tuesday, 20 September 2022 at 6:30pm at the Philippine Center Lobby Gallery. Deputy Consul General Arman R. Talbo, in his remarks, said that the art show is a celebration of the talent and creativity of Filipino artists and creatives. Press Release EGC-024-20224 August 2022 ART EXHIBIT OF YOUNG FIL-AM ARTISTS OPENS IN NEW YORK New York, 1 August 2022- The Philippine Consulate General and the Philippine Center in New York are showcasing a one-of-a-kind exhibit called “Home Sweet Home” at the lobby gallery of the Philippine Center from 1-12 August 2022 featuring a group of young Filipino-American artists.The event was organized and conceptualized in coordination with the Fresh Off the Boat Boys and Girls or FOBBS, a collective of young Filipino-American street and contemporary artists based in New York City.  The members of FOBBS have done street art exhibitions and projects for New York companies and businesses, and as a group, have shown their works in different exhibitions in the city in the past years.FOBBS’ goal is to engage and help educate their community and supporters, whether they are Filipinos or not, on their Filipino heritage and culture through their art.  The group’s membership has been growing since their last exhibit at the Philippine Center in 2019.Through this art exhibit, the Philippine Consulate General and the Philippine Center highlight the contributions of contemporary and emerging Filipino-American artists in shaping the art landscape in the US.A reception with the artists…

Press Release EGC-023-2022 2 August 2022 PHILIPPINE CONSULATE GENERAL CONDUCTS CONSULAR OUTREACH IN NEEDHAM, MASSACHUSETTS NEW YORK – Close to 400 Filipinos in Massachusetts were served during the Konsulado On The Go conducted by the Philippine Consulate General in New York on 30-31 July 2022. The outreach team led by Deputy Consul General Arman R. Talbo rendered a total of 369 services during the two-day outreach which includes 205 passport applications, 67 legal documents, 12 civil registrations, and 85 applications for dual citizenship.  The outreach mission was held in partnership with community leader Mr. Rudy Hermosa with the support of the Philippine Nurses Association – New England and other Filipino-American groups and associations in the area. The Consulate conferred a plaque of appreciation to Mr. Hermosa for his outstanding service and contribution to the Filipino Community by organizing the Consular Outreach in Needham, Massachusetts for 30 years since 1992. Members of the Filipino Community expressed their sincere appreciation for the outreach program of the Consulate which brings the consular services closer to them without the need to travel 5-6 hours to New York to avail themselves consular services such as passports and other necessary documents. Press Release EGC-021-202223 May 2022 NEW YORK PCG CONDUCTS CONSULAR OUTREACH ACTIVITY IN ROCHESTER, NEW YORK The Consulate General of the Philippines began its Consular Outreach season for 2022 by travelling to Rochester, New York for its “Konsulado on the Go” service which benefitted nearly 150 kababayan.The consular outreach mission was a co-sponsored by the Filipino American Association of Rochester, the Fil-Am Community of Upstate New York, Inc. (based in Syracuse, New York), and the Filipino American Association of Western New York (based in Buffalo, New York). The consular mission provided passport renewal, dual citizenship, and notarial services for members of the Filipino community in the Northwest of New York State.A total of 127 services were extended during the mission in Rochester.Ms. Tet Carreon-Varrera of the Filipino American Association of Rochester commended the Consulate Team for a job well done.“It was a very successful event.
